For whatever reason, Spring is the season for upgrading and backing up my computer systems. Maybe it’s because the weather isn’t quite good enough for outdoor barbecues but I still feel like really digging into a project. I’ve just upgraded my HTPC’s PVR software from the excellent GBPVR to nPVR (same software – just a 2.0 [...] The last time I hosted a website was almost six years ago. I had a couple of servers tucked away in a closet running SuperMicro dual pentium 3′s and a whole 512 megs of RAM each. I had Qwest DSL at the time and they allowed me to have the servers configured as nameservers for [...] I’m a geek and like to have alot of computers around – just in case one breaks or something. I like to build them and tweak them and make them do all kinds of different things. My major project of late is to build a HTPC setup so I don’t have to rely on Comcast’s DVR. [...] |
