Coppertree House was built in 1979. John and I moved in in 2003 and did a major remodel in 2005, when we added the copper roof and named it Coppertree House.
It’s essentially a ‘Northwest Contemporary’. It set up in such a way that my father can have the entire downstairs (not a basement) while John and I have the upper 2 floors to use. The Main floor is the second story where the kitchen and living room are.
It’s three stories with a 3-stop elevator (added for Mom who passed away shortly after moving in.) Dad’s lower floor has a bedroom, bathroom and what would normally be considered the family room. There is a specially designed ‘wet bar’ with a sink, refrigerator and dishwasher. There’s a microwave but no ‘heat’, that is, no cooktop or oven. Dad takes the elevator to the second floor to eat dinner. He eats breakfast and lunch downstairs in the ‘wet bar’ at a pop-up table.
